What I do when I get a potential deal is jump on the county website to find what liens they have on the property. You should beable to uncover most everything. However I always get a title search before closing on the property even if its sub-2 deal just for added protection. Ive seen some odd things happen in title searches. Just figure in the costs when you make an offer.
