Hi Travis, Fellow Calgary investor here! Good for you, this sounds like a really interesting deal. We are currently looking at putting a suite in our current house and were going to try to Airbnb for a bit and see how that goes. Does the city require you to provide parking for the tenants? We haven't gotten to building the suite yet, we are adding an additional washroom to the upper unit (while living in it) first. We have a suited rental in Cochrane and had to provide additional parking for the lower tenant in order to comply with the towns regulations on suites. Either way it is a creative way to create cashflow in a hard market!

Hi Brianne,

Fellow pregnant, investor and Calgarian here! Congratulations on your little one.

I basically just went through this two years ago when I was pregnant with my first except we knew we were putting a basement suite in, and now were doing it all again! What side of the city do you live on? In Cochrane where we used to reside, we backed on to some beautiful parcels of land and I know two of the properties did Airbnb. One had a Teepee that they rented on a nightly basis and the other was a tiny home and from what I remember they did really well in the summer months!

Also, have you looked into the cost of putting a suite on the garage? I think that is what we will do next, renting a basement suite is becoming a bit much for our growing family.

Hi @Luc Boiron,

I was wondering if you have had any success as of yet? I am going to start driving for dollars but would love to know if you have had any success?
