Hello my name is Renee' Dixon & I can't say that I'm totally new to REI because I've been "trying" to invest on & off for the past 20 years or so with no results. I've been a single auntie/mom to 2 kids & "life" has thrown me a bit off course so my energy level to really get into investing hasn't been where it should be. Single parenting also does not leave much money to participae in anything other than basic day-to-day functions so I've allowed myself to become paralyzed with fear because I don't have the credit to do deals, even though I've tried to find equity partners & private lenders.

My interests are to buy and hold multifamiy & self storage. I'm very familiar with locating properties on the MLS. I have tried to connect with reliable real estate agents in this area but nothing good has come of it so far.

It seems that most investors in this area are into single-family & those that I do come across that own multifamilies & self storage haven't been very helpful or are not willing to help me learn so I do alot of Googling & that's how I came across your website.

I have experience as a real estate developer in multifamily. Three years ago I worked with a mentor to transform an abandoned school building into a senior living complex with Low Income Housing Tax Credits & Historic Tax Credits but the deal fell through because we had not secured ownership of the building & someone bought the building. I found myself paralyzed again. Unfortunately, my mentor does not have deep pockets so this has been an up & down experience but I know that I am here to help change other peoples' lives for the better so I have to do better in order for that to happen.

I am very hopeful this is the start of my investment career because I don't plan to be just another person in the rat race of life forever. I've got more important things to do with my life!
