Well folks, we have our first tenant ready to move in.  I have read that I need not wait until Jan. next year to find an accountant for 2017 tax returns.  I would like someone that will not leave any stone uncovered. I have considered Tom Wheelwright's company, but I feel I might be too green and small at this time.  Any suggestions?

We moved out of our primary residence in Tennessee and relocated to South Carolina in July of 2016. We have spent about 7 months getting the home ready to become our first rental property. It has taken that long due to being 2.5 hours away and trying to do the work ourselves (big mistake).

We spent money on flooring, paint and such. Here goes the question...Is the money spent to improve the home deductible even though it hasn't become an official rental yet. I know this is probably a simple and silly question. I have always done my taxes myself but I am afraid I am in way over my head.

Hello Guys and Gals,

I am a real estate agent working in the Sevier County area specializing in resort and cabins. I started my career in real estate 4 years ago working for a land developer that developed high end gated communities across the southeast. After taking last year off and trying my hand at selling Mercedes-Benz, I realized my heart and love was in real estate and jumped back into the frying pan.

I am here to build a network of real estate agents and investors. After reading the book "Never Eat Alone" I realized that my passion was relationship building and networking.

I look forward to forming strong relationships here and hopefully working with a number of BP'ers to help each other become financially successful in the future.

Good Luck Everyone !!
