Hello Bigger Pocketers! Do we have any investors doing business in Plantagenet, ON? It is a very small town east of Ottawa (almost midway between Ottawa and Montreal) and I read somewhere that it has good prospects for the future. Does anyone have any idea about that place?

Congratulations on getting your first deal in @Snehann Kapnadak! Was wondering what made you invest out of state, especially for your first property? Again congratulations and good luck with your endeavors!

Hi Bram! Thanks for that in-depth explanation! I perfectly understood the theoreticality (if that is even a word lol) of equity!

However, I am still not sure I get refinancing tactics very clearly so I will read up on that! Thanks again man!

Hello awesome Bigger Pocketers, major Newbie here! The question is related to calculating equity. Let's say I put 20% down on a $100K property so now have $20K in it. The question is:

If I put in an X amount of $'s into the property and the ARV is now say $130K would my equity be 20% of the $130K? Or would it remain at $20K?

To make it short is equity calculated based on the % of what I own of the property or the money I put in? Thanks everyone!

Hi @Haseeb Awan! What I meant by "story" was basically the About Me section and others in my profile! I'm sorry if my original post was misleading! From your profile it looks like you are and RE investor from Ottawa? Would you care to share a little bit about your experience in the Ottawa market? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi everyone!

I am new here and my back story is available in my profile!

I would love to start a discussion with fellow Canadian investors as to what is working for them these days, especially in the Ottawa market (where I am mostly interested in).

Looking forward to hearing (reading) everyone's input!

Cheers,

MT
