Hi Shiv, I live in Queens and see them all over the Borough. I have contacted the city but cannot get through to an actual person. Has anyone actually purchased a house from the city?

Good afternoon, I have noticed there are a LOT of vacant homes in Queens (New York City), which have been vacant for at least 7 or 8 years. After doing a little research I have found that a majority of them are city owned. Some of them were put up for auction but received no bids.

I would like to purchase a few of these properties. I have contacted the city (in different ways), but have yet to receive a response.  Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with purchasing properties from the city?

Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon,
can you please email me those heat maps? If you also have one for East Orange and Irvington, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not however what type of investing are you looking to do: Flip or rent out? I do have access to heat maps which show what areas of Newark have increased or decreased over the past 12 months. Just let me know.

Hi, my name is Danielle, from Queens NY. I've been a long time lurker, so this is my very first post. I'm a super newbie, currently working on purchasing my first investment property in Essex county, NJ...specifically triplexes or fourplexes in East Orange, Irvington and Newark. I recently found out that Essex county offers a grant for down payment assistance and closing cost assistance for first time home buyers, which i am. Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anyone on the forum ever received such grants or program assistance?

Thanks in advance!

When purchasing my investment property through an LLC, at what point during the transaction should I incorporate the LLC, with the address of the property as the name of the LLC?
