Hey everyone, my name is Matt and I have, over the past couple years, tried to learn as much as I could about personal finance and retirement planning.  I try and read a lot, and listen to a lot of podcasts on these topics.  About a month ago, I listened to a podcast where the guest was Allison Kerrels.  She discussed buy and hold investing and it really sounded like something worth investigating.  She referenced this site, where she contributes, and I thought I would check it out!

Right now my immediate goal is to learn as much as possible about real estate.  I am so glad to have found a community where I can bounce questions off of people who know so much more than I do.  Getting to a place where I feel like I have my head fully wrapped around a topic should take much less time with the resources here on BP.

As far as future goals, I would like to invest in buy and hold properties to allow for the possibility of early retirement, or at least partial retirement.  I have a full time job that I love, so it is very likely that real estate would just be a supplement to my income and hopefully a source of cash in retirement, but who knows what the future will bring!

I have lived in Kansas City for about 4 years now, but have been in Kansas most of my life.  I look forward to learning with all of you at BP.
