Hey Sarah,

Thanks for sharing your experience and insights. It's interesting to hear how Michael Elefante's content on Instagram inspired you to start your own short-term rental co-hosting company. It seems like he has a good grasp of the design aspect and highlights some valuable points.

You mentioned that you didn't take his course and eventually unfollowed him because you weren't keen on the videos about his earnings. That's understandable, as some people prefer a more down-to-earth approach rather than constant emphasis on income.

I appreciate your perspective on joining a course or mastermind. It's great to hear that you found a mentorship group that aligned with your business goals and personality. By any chance, could you share what group it is or if it's accepting new members? It's true that being part of a group like that can make a significant difference in your journey, offering guidance and assistance when needed.

Thank you again for sharing your experiences and providing valuable insights into the benefits of joining a mentorship group. I'll take your perspective into account as I continue to explore my options in the short-term rental industry.

Hey everyone! There's this guy I see all over Instagram now which makes STR sound really great. He's pretty inspirational and mildly informative - as ask the gurus are - but of course you probably have to shell out thousands from his tribe etc. His IG is here btw: https://instagram.com/melefant...

My question is this: are these kinds of courses really needed for someone that wants to achieve great results in short term rentals? Or is all the information you would need to know in books and on websites and YouTube for free, and that you really wouldn’t get anything additional from these courses?

Because my thought is that these courses, at least simplify and directly give you the information needed without having to sort through fluff or do lots of searching. But at the same time I don’t know if it’s worth $2000 or something. On the other hand $2000 might be a small price to pay if you’re going to be making that much or more every month by the time you finish your short term, rental journey over a year or two…

What do you think? 🤔 Would appreciate any wise investor’s feedback.

Thank you for the warm welcome @Jill DeWit! I'm curious - do you have any favorite posts or videos that you'd recommend I check out first?

Hi everyone! I'm a designer living in San Francisco. I have absolutely zero experience in real estate so I'm looking to get familiar with the different methods of real estate investing in order to find a best fit based on my personality and resources available. It's a pleasure to meet everyone and be a part of the community!
