Thank you both for your response. Unfortunately the buildable area will not allow for that many units. There was previously a single family on the lot so the connections are there and it's fully cleared with a driveway and partial foundation. I bought the lot given the size and location, just exploring as many options as I can to maximize its value. Appreciate your time!

Hi all,

I have a couple properties rented out but looking to build for the first time. What are the best resources/tools to figure out approximate costs of building these days? I am looking to put a small 2-3 fam on an acre lot to maximize # of doors. Aside from contacting builders, are there any good tools I can use to help identify approximate costs so I have a bit more knowledge going into it?

I'm trying to figure out if it makes more sense to build a single family and flip it, or build a MF and rent it out.  Located in central CT. A typical new 2-3 bedroom ~$2000-$2200+/mo. Very little rental or sale inventory in town, with a lot of demand.

Any tips/resources would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I will continue to read through previous threads with similar info.

Thanks,
