Post: Newbie question - how do you see pics of foreclosures?

On zillow, I see foreclosures listed - but with no picture.  How do you see pics of the properties?  Or do you have to drive by?

Would the MLS have pics? How does one get personal access to the MLS (besides working with an agent)?

Thanks in advance.

Gotcha.  Thanks Mike!  Isn't it very tough to predict which properties will appreciate.  I was reading the bigger pockets book, that suggested you look at cashflow -- instead of hoping for appreciation.

Side note- just curious, is population growth (which cities have grown over a period of 10-15 years) an indicator of the properties in that city appreciating more?

As a newbie, I don't plan on buying to exit (or sell), but rather the buy and hold strategy to get passive income.

@Account Closed thanks for the tip.  what do you mean by rapid or total value growth?  excuse the newbie question.  :)

@David Faulkner Tough to find lower price homes out in LB.

Thanks Samuel and Joe! Appreciate the feedback. Yeah I've heard the condo game is not so great - so HOA is not a good idea.

I looked at Anaheim but prices seem steep.  Will keep looking around.

Houshacking is not possible with the wifey :). But wish I did that before.

Any thoughts about Bakersfield or Fresno?  Bit further but maybe worth it?

Hi there!  My first blog post!  :)  I'm new to BP -- just started learning more about real estate investments.  I had picked up Rich Dad Poor Dad a long while back, but am now getting back to educating myself.

That being said, I was curious if there were areas in So. California that people recommend?

I was watching a video by Robert Kiyosaki who said when he started, he was looking for a low priced investment that was local to him because there would definitely be problems.  So start small.

I live in Long Beach, CA and am open to any type of properties (SFR, MFR, Condo, etc). Just a beginner.

Thanks!
