J _ Took some time for me to get back to this post.

I took your advice. Everything worked out well with the tenant.

Thank you for the sound advice!

Recently I have grown to become more disciplined with my investment endeavors. But here is a decision that is tugging at me whether to be stern or lenient.

My tenant of almost 1 year is leaving for a new job in a different state. Turns out the end of the lease does no longer match up with the move in date to his new location. He has asked for an extension (in less than a months notice - we do a month to month on a 1 year lease), for a few days.

I have heard the stories of tenants not moving out etc. Should I go ahead and extend for a couple days at the prorated rent? I will not NEED the condo prior to the date suggested.

All rents are paid up and the security deposit is still with me.

Am I overlooking any issue that could arise?

If I do go ahead with the extension, are there any particular wording that should included in a short written agreement protect myself and property?

Overall, good tenant!

I am a new investor, seeking out my second property in Vermont. I'll gladly attend this meet to network and share with other investors.

Located in Essex Junction  and have a connection with some developers in the area.
