Wow - I knew most liens attach to the property and not the owner, but I didn't realize that it could be attached AFTER it changes hands. Are you sure that's legal?
Anyone else out there ever heard of this?

Thanks, Uwe! My county does have property search capabilities, I just want to make sure I'm searching in the right place.

I am doing my very first deals - 2 short sales. I'm not sure if these deals will go through - I'm just in the beginning process. But, I would like to know if there are liens on the property without paying a title company. Is there a way to do that online? I have checked the prothonotary's office online, and don't find anything there. Any advice?

Sorry, I just saw this post now! I don't know if I'm the one to ask for help with this site, since I'm just learning how to use it - it's huge! For example - I had been looking to see if anyone responded to my intro, but I couldn't find it! Now, I stumble upon it!
