@Chris Hall I agree is spot on. Fuquay Varina where I'm located is one of the hottest if not the hottest Raleigh suburbs. I'm happy to help any way I can.

This thread prompted some thought on my part and so I added the following to my "about" section.

I've been around real estate my whole life with both a Grandfather who was one of the most successful realtors in my home town and an uncle also a realtor, commercial and residential landlord and developer. I got into real estate myself because:

1. Never felt totally secure working for others. I like cash flow that is mine, and an employer cannot take it away. I have seen people passed over for promotions, laid off, you name it. There are no secure jobs. Only you can secure your family's future.

2. I want to pass something on and Real estate is great for that purpose.

3. I enjoy looking at deals, interacting with folks, basically putting business together

4. I get to operate with total integrity and in my book total integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Honesty and Integrity are everything!

5. Pay for my kid's college.

There's more, but those are the main reasons I love this business.

I also love money coaching too. Real Estate is a great example of putting money to work!

@Shiva Bhaskar I hope it's ok I used some of your verbiage. I really liked it.

So I'm lingering in the middle of Fuquay & Chapel Hill (live in Raleigh).  My son graduated UNC last year, so also a big fan of visiting the campus when I can.  I have not tackled investing in or near Triangle as my properties are in Western NC and now a duplex in High Point.  Happy to connect!

Joe

I sent you a connect request. thanks for reaching out!

I live, and invest in, Chapel Hill as well as other college towns. Glad to connect!

If you can't tell by my color choices, I'm a UNC alum and have a son and daughter there now. All I need is an excuse to go to Chapel Hill ;-)

 Plus one on those.

Hey Chris,

One of the biggest driving factors in my motivation for REI is my Grandfather. He built an impressive real estate portfolio over roughly 40 years and I spend my summers fixing/gutting/cleaning those properties. Growing up I found the value these properties give and the financial freedom it can provide. You have to love what you're doing in order to stay motivated.

Just my two cents!

Same Here, that's what motivated me. Now what drives me is to be my own boss and live life to the fullest. I also love coaching people on being smart with their money. Real Estate is one of the best examples of smart money!
