Hello again everyone, thanks for the comments!

Tod: Thank you for the advice and encouragement. I do look forward to reading the blogs and forums for all the great, FREE, info.

I signed up with ForeclosureS.com. I must say, I did enjoy my three day stay in California this past summer. I had attended college in a town not far away, so I was somewhat familiar with the area.

It was actually a nice, small, 15 person class, where we got more attention from Alexis and the coaches. I forgot to mention that I'm getting a year's worth of foreclosure lists, daily for pre-foreclosures, auction and REO listings. This means, if anyone is interested in having me bird-dog, I can find out who has equity to go door knocking. Please note though that the training is in the ethical foreclosure investing school-of-thought, where you try to help the home owner get back some equity so they can get a fresh start. Also, I signed up for coaching so I can avoid any big mess-ups on my first deal.

Diane: Yeah, chicks unite! Seriously, I encourage other women to think about R.E. investing, say if they have a self-directed IRA. I am available if anyone needs a managing partner, for instance. Now about that party...we'll see!

Thank you all for your greetings and encouragement.

Charles: Yes, I did spend some big money on my training. I don't have regrets, but I can see that it was an expensive lesson!

Jackie: On Maui, there are many foreclosures that happened last year and again this year. Here is a quote from an article in The Maui News, 29Aug10,
"Maui's foreclosure picture 'not pretty'"
"...with nearly a thousand single-family homes and condominiums currently pending foreclosure - nearly double the numbers from a year ago...Still, with little new home construction, these listings are supplying the inventory that has brought a kind of normalcy to the real estate market..." Seeing this trend is what got me going on looking into investing.

Rich: I have some relatives on Kauai. but I don't know much about the market there.

Rick: I will contact you about Wailea. That is the resort side of the island. I have gone to Kihei (next door) to look at a few places. I tend to focus on the working folks' level. But from one article I read, even some Wailea condos have been foreclosed. I would say, now is definitely a good time to look.

Hello everyone, I am a newbie real estate investor from Maui , Hawaii. I just joined BP a few days ago: Looks like a great site and I'm happy to be here.

Currently, I work as a caregiver for my elderly mother. Part of my real estate experience comes from this: I managed my mother's rental unit for eleven years from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's.

I decided to look into real estate investing after seeing an infomercial on t.v.. One book led to another until I decided to take action. I flew to California and took an intensive 3 day training this past summer, in June 2010, in Sacramento.

To make a long story short, I'm now looking for money/equity partners and angel investors to help me purchase property at a discount, to rehab then sell for a profit. I'm also open to doing some bird-dog deals.

I look forward to networking on BP, meeting other investors and learning more from the forums and blogs.
