Welcome!! I'm not too far from you, in Cornwall up in Orange County and have just gotten my real estate license after watching the boards for a year or so.

I'm about 5 minutes down the road from Newburgh and have seen things like this far too often in my local searches. What street in Newburgh is this, if you don't mind me asking?

It's possible, I honestly haven't looked much into other areas much because of my desire to be more hands on. It is certainly more tax friendly as you get north though, thats for sure.

I think there is potential. My mentor has been landlording here for 20+ years and it's a great community. Not super-high CF opportunities but decent enough and a place I could easily see myself spending my days. I prefer to look at properties where I can be more hands on rather than long-distance landlording.

I'm not yet "investment ready" as I'd like to get some other debts in order, etc. but I am living in and actively browsing the Cornwall area which is just outside of Newburgh.

David

The business has been running for about a year or two doing on-site photography (weddings, etc.) she is looking to add studio shots to her reportiore and would be using a portion of the space for that reason.

Hello everyone from NY! Been looking on the boards for a couple months now and a week or two as an official member, and was looking for some advice on mortgage options. I am looking at a multi-family house that my girlfriend will be using a portion of as a studio for her photography business. Where would the banks see this in terms of a mortgage. We will not be living in one of the units, but it will not be a pure investment either (or maybe I'm wrong). Any advice would be appreciated!
