@Bryan Devitt I've already taken that step and spoke with a company that I know does good work and I know the owner. I'll be starting there next week and he's going to teach me a lot about remodeling and contractor work and I'll be making about 14/hr simply because its been a while since the last time I've been on a roof or doing that kinda work in general. But I'm sucking it up going back to the hard stuff to get where I want.  I'm not a stranger to not getting what I want when I want it and I know working for what I want makes it all the more sweeter when I finally get it, so that being said. I feel like I'm back on track for where I want to be.

@Bryan Devitt I was making bout 15-16/hr. True I downsized but I was in my early twenties I wanted to find a career I would enjoy doing with feeling like I was working. And I get what your saying that’s just how my mindset was then I was still trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted to be.

@Bryan Devitt I did that also every day before my  divorce with my ex I did work 70+ hours a week roofing houses from sun up to sundown and I made decent money however I was working for a father whenever me and her split i found other job opportunities I didn’t stay in roofing because I wanted to do something different spent 8yrs of my life doing it.

@Yosselyn De Abreu I thought about that a long time ago. And well I had a few blemishes on my record to say the least that kept me from being able to join.

To everyone, thank you all for your tips and insight. I’m going to implement what I can where I can. I know 13/hr isn’t a lot and I used to roof for 8yrs and I stopped shortly after my brother in-law passed. I could go back to that but in the down season it’s difficult to find good jobs. Or maybe it was just who I was working for. Anyway I am determined to get outta my own mess and move forward in the best way possible. I’m going to look into working within the RE field in someway. Either working with a  realtor or going back into roofing. I don’t want to seem defensive or like I don’t want to do better. I just want to make sure I’m making the right choice.

@Kyle McKnett we already use Netflix, and I after work I’m with my kids and girlfriend spending time with them before bed and do it all over again. I’ve paid off on cc but then something happens which seems to be the norm and I end up having to use the card to pay for it. Like when my motor in my car blew up and I had to buy a new one.

@Kyle McKnett I am paying down my credit cards currently and trying to pay off past med bills (from my earliy 20s). Just after taking the time and writing down my expenses vs my income I’m negative no matter how I spend it.
