Also, you can send me a colleague request though and I can tell you more about it.

 True about the marketing spazs.

Thanks for the helpful post Jeremy- appreciate it. So in spite of the hidden fees the VRBO platform still works? In such case I will test drive it.

I also want to thank everyone else who responded constructively to my inquiry, as imperfect as it was. I am very grateful.

Hi Stephen, really appreciate the time you took to respond! True, the thread is a bit older- but at the time I didn't receive much feedback. Glad you joined BP, we need people like you here. I am very interested in learning from people like you, who are successful in their business and confident enough to share some of the knowledge and know-how with the less experienced investors. What you wrote about Hawai'i Island is very true, and very much in line with what I've been learning on my own in the last 2 years through gradual observation and exploration... It does take a lot of time to acquire knowledge and connect the dots. I was planning to get VR property in the Kona area around the time I wrote the initial message in this thread... and I really should have followed my gut and gone for it... but I was worried about the logistics of managing it efficiently while still continuing to live and work in the mainland, for now- so I didn't buy.. after which I did observe the huge hike in pricing. It's harsh but a good learning curve. Working on other projects currently but still planning to purchase property there, in the near future. Wish you the best of luck and great success with your current project!

Haha John D, wow... the AirBNB / VRBO way, or the highway? So you feel I am not entitled to an opinion, and I should quit simply because I don't like those available options... :) I will find a solution that works... and it may be a solution different than what works for you & the other less-than-helpful VR owners who read threads quietly in the background, and keep the know-how for themselves.

I disagree about the "crappy" comment. It was a bit blunt, true- but honest... the email address URL is too long... and I wished the guy the best of luck. I am not very good with sugar coating, it I am not mean. I have no doubt you are a knowledgeable investor, but I am not sure I can work with a negative manager or mentor. I need somebody who can help build me up and nurture me, instead of breaking me.

Lucas Carl... I don't know what the heck you are talking about, but I knew it was only a matter of time till somebody like you responds rude to my inquiry. And there we go! If this is such a low level question for you, why even bother commenting? I am a newbie in this, and I do need help to figure some things out. That is why I am a member of BP. Why are you a member? I am happy that you are so established and so great. Good for you. Now, please can you kindly leave this thread, and let more constructive BP people share useful feedback.

As long as the URL is short and sweet. Not like the URL or your email address. Just saying! Wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see it.
