@Matt M. good to know about the management companies doing that. 

Ideally we'd like a home and a townhome or larger condo would work as long as HOA fees aren't crazy. Not a big fan of HOAs since they can just pull short term rentals at anytime.


I might try to wait it out a year and see what happens in the area with the new laws in the area. We'd be looking in the range of 500-800k

@Matt M. ya I read about the laws and how you need to be on call within an hour of any complaints and each rental needs to be licensed


We are looking for a place centrally located to the big resorts mostly to go up and visit when its not rented to offset sku trip costs and have rental cash pay off the house so we don't have to rent it all year.

I'm looking to buy around Silverthorn or Dillon and making it a short term rental in hopes to offset a few vacations up in the mountains. Anyone have an recent numbers on how well things do up there in the winter vs summer. 

I'm outside of Denver and I know a lot of people go up to the mountains in the summer also but just not sure if the whole ski season can hold an investment through the non-ski season. 

I'm also aware of the pending tax hikes on short term rentals in the area.
