Seems like there's a lot of interest, we'll definitely have to do this again sometime soon when more people can join!
Generally nights and weekends are good for me too, and the further ahead I can plan the better.

I'm also from the Rochester area.
I've been investing for a couple years now and have 4 single family homes and one duplex in the city. They're all on the west side of the city, 19th ward and a little north of there. I also love connecting with other investors and would love the opportunity to sit and chat with anyone who's interested!
I do this part time, but hope to grow my business and eventually invest full time, or at least much more time than I'm able to devote now (I'm a mechanical engineer by day). I'm focused on the buy/hold strategy currently, but I'm open to other opportunities.

I assume he was refering to "banks in your community" or nearby, smaller banks. I've had luck with this myself. The larger banks tend to have a more "mechanical" system where you have to check all their boxes to get a loan, while smaller local banks can be more willing to working with you on a case by case basis.

Thanks for the warm welcome all! I just wish my free time wasn't at such a premium lately, so I could spend a few hours digging around! Maybe this weekend...

Hi everyone,
My name is Mike and I live near Rochester, NY. I'm a 28 year old mechanical engineer by day, and have been investing in real estate in Rochester for a couple years now. I co-own and manage a real estate holding LLC which currently has a portfolio of 5 rental properties (4 singles and a duplex). I'm focused on building up long term cashflow.
So far I've been having the properties professionally managed and things have been going well. At this point I'm hoping to expand with some larger multifamilies, and maybe do some of the management myself.
I kinda feel like an island, even though I'm starting to build up my connections with some local professionals. I hope to connect with more investors and absorb all of your wonderful wisdom to help me navigate where I go next!
Ultimately I'd love to do this full time and replace my paychecks. I'd love to be able to spend more time with my family and volunteering at my church. I'm also a guitar junkie and want to expand my collection!
I've already seen at least one other Rochesterian who introduced himself recently, so I'm excited to get started!
