Thank you @Loren Whitney , @Fred Sams , @Tom Reynolds . I look forward to learning a lot more from BP.  I will also be checking with my 401k provider to see what options I have to move money around.

@Dmitriy Fomichenko I would like to call and talk to you sometime about the Solo 401k.  I do have self-employment work on 1099 basis besides my full-time job.  My full-time company's SPD does mention direct rollovers to another qualified plan.  Can I just call Sense Financial and ask for you?

Thanks for your help!

Hello BP,

My name is Mike and I am a new real estate investor in the Topeka, KS area.  I am currently working full-time as software developer.  I have been involved in the field for 21 years now and am looking for a change of pace.  Mostly I am looking to build up more in my retirement.  I have most of my retirement tied up in my 401k account and am looking for a good cash flow besides that.

I signed up to BP probably 2-3 weeks ago and have been researching the site and listening to the podcasts.  I am amazed at the community on here and the vast knowledge I am gaining from the site.

I am looking to buy either buy rental properties or to flip houses in the Topeka and surrounding areas.  I would like to accumulate several rental properties to offset my retirement income.  The plan is to retire in 15 years or so and I am needing something extra.

As I mentioned most of my retirement is tied up in my 401k with a little bit of savings on the side.  I have been interested in also getting a Solo 401k to help purchase properties. I am wanting to rollover some of my current 401k into the Solo 401k but from what I have read it sounds like that is difficult to do when you are currently employed.  Has anybody else had experience in doing this? Can anybody recommend companies to talk to about setting up a Solo 401k?  I have seen a few companies that have been mentioned on here and have researched a few of them but just want to get other people's opinion on whom to trust.

I look forward to networking, learning, and building relationships with other investors on BP!!
