Thanks Victor So.

We have no kids and are looking for great restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Nice! Any of those cities you mentioned would be great to live in. They're pretty much A+ neighborhoods all in the suburbs of Chicago. I guess it all boils down to what you're looking for. If you have children and you're looking to be in a nice suburb with good schools and nice single family homes, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, and Libertyville would be great places to look. If you want the city experience (great restaurants, bars, clubs, etc) then there are tons of other options.

I'll be responsible for Schaumburg, oak park, Arlington, Libertyville with my position. We would like a fun area with access to amenities. We are more urban and city dwellers.

Hi BP, my wife and I are heading to Chicago because of a job opportunity. We are interested in buying a SFR and would like to live close to the city if not in the city. Chicago is so big and I have no idea where to start. Can someone help me by dropping a few neighborhoods in north chicago/north suburbs that are great values.

Thanks!

Thank you Ross Denman! I've heard about those neighborhoods and will look into those further.

BP,

My wife and I are moving to Indy and are looking for information about the market there. We will be leasing until we get there and can learn about the market. We'd like to stay close to downtown but the prices are high. I've heard Fountain Square, Bates-Hendrix, and Meridian Kessler are good neighborhoods. We are looking for a decent neighborhood that may still have some growth potential. Can someone help me with market knowledge and intel?

Have the sellers of the property sign it as early on in the discussions as possible and again at closing.  Again, DISCLOSE, DISCLOSE, DISCLOSE! Best of luck.

THANKS @David Zamarron! Disclosure is EVERYTHING as an agent. I definitely want to operate with integrity and high ethical standards.

Hi BP,

I'm a licensed Michigan RE agent looking for insight about setting up a RE investing and wholesale business. I want to market my business with cards, marketing pieces, and a website independent of my broker but I want to make sure my credential and ability to list properties with my broker are advertised. I don't want to violate any laws/rules. Does anyone have some good suggestions around doing this?

Would you guys suggest putting that you're an investor and licensed agent on business cards for your wholesaling marketing?

If it's your area, driving for dollars would be the best way to build a list and its inexpensive. Look for distress homes and find the owner. I've had a lot of success building a good list this way along with list source.

@Richard C. Thanks for responding. No need to read their responses again. There points were well taken. My comment was based on my mindset going in to the deal as opposed to now. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
