Post: Investing in Asheville surrounding areas?

@Wei Jie Yang The areas outside Asheville have been performing well. As mentioned above, the city of Asheville has restrictions so it would not work for an investor. Cashiers also just decided to ban short term rentals and that should go into effect January 1st.

My personal favorite area to invest in are Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, where I own a couple STRs. Old Fort, Burnsville and Waynesville are also great. Those areas have become quite popular but you can still find some properties where the numbers work. Turn key properties usually go really quickly with multiple offers over asking price. The higher price points offer a little less competition. It can be frustrating at times finding the right investment, however with a little patience it is definitely possible. I would be happy to help with your search.

@Ryan Howell Thank you. It sounds like 8 weeks is about what most surveyors are out right now.

Thank you @Jordan Lockaby. Yes, I have used Tom before and he is great. He is a little backed up at the moment so I was trying to get someone sooner.

I need help finding a surveyor in the Asheville area. I am subdividing a piece of land for two STR builds and have had a hard time finding someone that can get out there sooner than February. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello @Becky Brown

If you need any help finding a STR, please let me know. I also operated our properties remotely at one point so I can give some insight on that. I would be up for grabbing a beer next week.

@Josh Myrick I think that area is trending in the right direction. There are definitely pockets that are still a little rough but its hard to beat that location and it is only a matter of time before its a solid neighborhood.

@Ryan Howell Thank you. I definitely think small multi family has more deals out there than the single family stuff.

@Beau Watson They are tough to find available good ones. Reach out to Willow Creek Builders to see if it’s something they would do?
