Looking for some guidance. I have about $100k in a self-directed securities IRA. I've picked up on bits of information that indicate I might be able to convert those monies, through a 1031, into funds to be used to invest in real estate. Is that possible? And if so can I do it without early withdrawal penalties and income tax implications? Appreciate any feedback and/or recommended resources to research.

I'm not a real estate investment owner as of yet. I have had good experience with Premier Exteriors, Jim Pull. Quality guy. Quality work. I used him for a deck project last summer. He sided my house through last winter and then just completed my roof and some other items of storm damage from this spring. Good ratings on Angie's List, BBB, and Google +.

Looking for some input from this vast base of knowledge on the pros and cons of setting up an LLC or S-Corp for my company structure. I'm looking to acquire and hold long-term SFR properties yet I'm open to any of the other elements of REI business. Appreciate any input offered! Peace...

Thank you for the kind welcome and directions to some of your recommended resources. I'm targeting single family residences at this time, however, I'm open to anything that offers true asset value, cash flows, and ultimately a revenue stream. Working on my plan and goals. Looking to accumulate 20-30 properties over the next 8-10 years. I'm kind of an old guy to get started in this game. I guess I'm kind of a late bloomer. Looking forward to learning and relating. Peace!

My name is Mike. I am a newbie to the real estate investing world. I am very excited to be moving into this new phase of my career and the opportunities and freedom that building a solid buy and hold portfolio can help provide me and my family.

Looking forward to learning and sharing as this experience unfolds.

GBR!
