ic. I have not decided that I want to start a note business, but only want to invest in notes. So if there are licensure requirements in a particular state I would probably not want to have dealings there. If I do buy notes through my IRA from non-license required states, wouldn't that open me to more risk as I can't open up a LLC for protection through my IRA? Or is it possible to have an LLC through an IRA and purchase notes?

Is it worth the time and money to learn how to service a loan? I've been reading about people servicing NPNs. Do we have any say in the servicing if we outsource that work? If so, how does that work?
