Greetings Everyone!
My name is Mike Lopez and my wife Angela and I have finally reached our first goal in real estate which was to pass the real estate licenses state exam in Florida. Although we know that you don't necessarily need to have your real estate license as an investor, but we saw much more value in having the license.
I actually bought and rehabbed a home over 10 years ago before the market crash. I was actually able to see the home a few months before the market bottomed out and everything that followed caused my wife and I to freak out a bit because we did not know what to do next. I also have been in the hardwood flooring business for more than 15 years but had to close shop after the crash.
Since then, i returned to school and earned a degree in computer networking and never used the degree due to a promotion that provided me with more income. After almost 9 years in corporate life I am so ready to get into real estate again.
I found BiggerPockets and can't find myself leaving the site because there is so much great information here. I find the support here to be amazing and tremendously useful. I want to start a rehab business and but with the guidance and support that the professionals on this site can offer. I am looking for a mature, patient, but willing mentor in the Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Florida area that would also be a broker that would be willing to spend time with my wife and me to teach us the ropes while we offer our time to help with tasks you may need help with.
Please help for i am really ready to escape the corporate world that I have allowed to be enslaved to for way too long.
I also served in the Marine Corps for 6 years, so if any devil dogs out there, Semper Fi!
(we are also interviewing brokers to hang up our licenses with-any recommendations there?)
