@ Warren Marshall

Thanks for the reply. Nice too see you making REI work in Alberta. Would be great to share some info if/when I'm heading by Red Deer.

@Jeff Cichocki,

Thanks for the reply Jeff. With our flip in Memphis we actually acquired a couple empty lots that we'll be holding on to. It would be nice to chat with them on new builds in the area. If you want to PM me with their contact info I would love to reach out one day and stir up a conversation.

Hi, newer to bigger pockets, hoping to connect with some wholesalers in the Memphis area, dealing in multi family. Would love to have some deals to analyze and pick the right one for our group. Hoping for 5-18 door range but would be interested to look at smaller ones as well.

Hi James, I used the quote option as I can’t seem to get the tags to work.
I can't fully answer your question yet since this will be the first year dealing with taxes from working in the US. I have went the route of starting a C-Corp and putting each individual property under its own LLC. With this structure I should be able to pay the US tax through my C-Corp on money earned and not be taxed at home until I repatriate retained earnings.

I see your located in Memphis dealings with turn keys, is there a high demand? Are you dealing with many wholesalers in the area?

Thank you to everyone for the replies, I can see there’s a lot of support in this community. Look forward to chatting with and meeting more people.

@Michael J Morris

Thank you for the reply, we were able to purchase our first two properties without needing financing, so we just recently started dealing with the refi. We did a lot of calling around to see who was able to work with us, being Canadian investors without SSC, the majority of banks in the US would not. We managed to find a couple hard money lenders that would, as well as a couple leads on potential banks. I’d recommend doing a google search of lenders in the area your interested in and see if anyone is willing to work with you. it will give you a good idea of what different lenders are looking for.

Hi, my name is Mike Hughes and I’m a Canadian investing in US real estate. I was introduced to Bigger pockets by a friend and I am excited about the great info on this site.

I'm fairly new to real estate investing, starting in the US market June of last year. I'm investing with a couple JV partners, currently we have two properties together, a Brrr in Dayton, OH and a flip in Memphis, TN. The Dayton property is rehabbed, rented, and currently waiting on refinance. The Memphis flip is reno'd and ready to list any day. With a couple properties under our belts we are hoping to look into multi-family deals (5-18 doors) in the Memphis area. I'm hoping to connect with Memphis wholesalers that deal in multi-family.
