@Maryanne Cameron - Thanks for the encouragement. I have never heard that "success isn't linear", but I love it. I already looked it up and the graphics for that are awesome and so true. Good luck with your REI journey.

Sounds terrible right? Although it may ultimately not be, it wasn’t what I had planned when I started my real estate investing journey 14 months ago. I did zero documentation of my journey online (I should have). I plan to start now. Some of my posts will be about the past year and some will be about looking forward to what is next. I’m definitely not done with real estate investing, it is just going to look different for the next few years.

I was fortunate in that my wife was onboard and has a good job. She was a big supporter of me quitting my job and chasing my dream of real estate investing. She gave me a year to pursue that dream and committed to taking on the responsibility of supporting the household on a single income.

When looking back at the past year, there were many successes not related to the bottom line. Personal growth, spiritual growth, putting the business together and establishing systems, networking, starting my website, building REI skillset, gaining better understanding of where I want to be in the REI world and also where I don't want to be. These were all positives. When looking strictly at the numbers, it was a total failure. I will share the numbers in future posts, but it was not good financially.

Bigger Pockets has been a great resource to me over the years and played a big part in giving me the courage to jump in with both feet. I will hopefully be able to give back a little and help some new investors avoid some of the mistakes I think I made during this first year.  I Also realize there is much benefit to letting the BP community know what your future plans are, as they can provide advice because they have been there, done that.

Heading back to the world of W2. Going to re-stock the war chest and plan my next steps in pursuit of Freedom. Stay tuned…

I am in the same boat unfortunately. It was a struggle to get them to send out the first half of a 6-month campaign. They never started the second 6-month campaign. All mail stopped in early March 2020. They are not answering phones, returning emails or responding to the chat function on their website. Michael Quarles also not responding to DM's on Bigger Pockets. I have requested refund of $7,351 for unsent mail. My wife gave me a year to pursue REI full time and yellowletters really jacked up the first half. Hopefully Michael Quarles can communicate what the hell is going on and what his plans are. Otherwise may have to be a small claims court issue.
