@Brad Hammond Thank you so much for that information and advice. I did not realize it roughly cost that much per year and definitely something to weigh into the options. I have some thinking to do!

I have a solid, great paying job but I am looking to make a second income. I am looking for a part time job with more than just a money return. I want to learn and set myself up for the future in the real estate world. I am a new investor and setting myself up to buy a multifamily in the next couple months to house hack. In your opinion, is a real estate license the best way to go to gain knowledge and make a stream of revenue? Or would a different avenue like being a lender or broker be a better investment to help make future purchases better.

Would love some opinions! Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I have not bought my first investment property yet, but my goal is to own multiple houses and hopefully purchase a house every year.  I just recently got a new job that gives really good benefits and match my 401k 100%. In any of your experiences is it better to put a certain amount away per week into a 401k or is it just better to keep that money in your paycheck every week? Ideally, I want to retire before age 65 so I am leaning towards not putting any money in, but would love to hear all of your opinions!

I am moving to Austin, Texas in about a month. I am looking to get my first property. Ideally, I was planning to buy a multi-family out in Austin, but they are slim to come by in my price range. Since house hacking and owning multi-families are my goal, do I settle on a single family house and wait a year to be able to rent it out? Does anyone have opinions on the Austin market? Or should I invest out of state and put a 15% down on a property? I am trying to weigh out my decisions, but all I know is I want property by this spring.

Thank you all in advance!
