I have been pre approved for an investment loan so I need to now come up with the 20% down payment. I wanted to hear from seasoned investors, what do you think is the best route to take to get this money. Since I have enough in my IRA, I could pull the 20% out of there or should I use the collateral I have in my home and use a HELOC loan.

My thought is that the HELOC is the better of the two, since I don't have any Tax implications. If I use the IRA then the money I will be pulling out of there is going to be taxed. Am I missing something?

Thanks for all the help and advise... Bigger Pockets is a really great resource with all the subscribers willing to share their insights and assistance.

@Bjorn Ahlblad thanks for your insight. You have given me something to think about. I am cautiously optimistic to say the least. Want to look at all my options before investing.

Anyone have resources or links where I can find out more about investing in Mobile Home. This home has its own level 0.3 lot, 3bd, 2bth and in an area which has new developments going up around. There is a mixture of single family homes and mobile homes in this community. Not really sure if the price they are asking for is reasonable. An investor put some money into the home, so its move in ready. The plan is to put a renter in the home, with the expectation that even though the Mobile Home will depreciate the property will continue to appreciate. Any help and direction and insight is appreciated, thanks.

@Frank Patalano My sons are going to be investing with me, so our challenge is deciding on best location as I am on GA and they live in FL. We have tried to engage realtors but keep running up against ‘’have you applied for a loan yet question’’ and we/I am unsure what is the best route to go, apply for a mortgage or try find an investor. Still lots questions/stuff we are trying to figure out...
