I am looking to purchase a house hack in between now and when my lease is up in my townhome. I have this big itch to buy a converter van and go travel the USA. With that being said I know people will house hack, rent out the rooms and sleep on the couch or convert the living room to another bed room. I was curious if me living in a van in the driveway would still fall under the guidelines for an FHA loan? I am wanting to travel weeks at a time but I do not know if it would be considered my primary residence or if the van would be? I am trying to find ways to build equity while I travel and work remote.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! As well as anyone else who has experience traveling the country in a van!

Thanks

What are the best markets in South Carolina for buy and holds? Pros and cons for that market as well?

Thanks!

@Fred Shatzoff it is hitting the market on 2/17 and they already have multiple offers on the table so they aren’t showing the house.

Looking to put an offer on a SFR that needs some repairs to it. However, the sellers aren't showing the home to anyone. Advise on what to do in this situation? Selling price is 80k, 2 bed, 1 bath, 1300 sq ft.

Located in a great neighborhood with similar houses in the area being valued at $140-$150. Possibility to add a 3rd bedroom is high.

Thanks!
