Thanks, Michael. That's where my head is as well right now. I think we'll try this first one solo, but may consider partners in the future, if they can bring something to the table we lack. I'm all in, but my wife is in the mindset that we'll cut our risks in half, but I know there's more to it than that... Good luck to you!

Hey @Joe Barnett, thanks for the response! Would you recommend one method over the other? As far as realty needs, I'd love to communicate further since you have the experience I'm looking for. Thanks

Thanks for the advice! Would you recommend a HELOC or 401k loan as both are available options to assist with our down payment?

Hi all! I'm currently seeking out my first property in the Lake Orion/Rochester area of Michigan and don't have any experience in real estate. I have some liquidity, but not quite enough for a 20% down payment on a decent SFR.

My wife and I bought our first home earlier this year, but she feels more comfortable partnering with a friend whom also has no experience. I am debating if we should work with him. Has anybody had a similar dilemma? If so, what was the outcome?

If I could find a deal I know made sense, I could easily get the 20% down payment. Just looking for a little guidance. Thank you!
