Hey Josh. I see that Richard never replied back. Did he send you an answer in your personal messages? This is something I've been wondering as well. Or maybe you've learned the answer since this post was put up...

Thanks -Mike G

Candace and Charles,

Thank you for your replies. I was curious because hubzu puts a red asterisk next the agent info section and say I need to fill it out immediately.

On one hand I hear bad things about hubzu from people and then I hear good things. The people who speak good about it stress patience since the reserve price may or may not be met in certain cases. The home will go back on auction a few more times before the seller agrees to whatever bid they can get. While the people who speak bad about it talk about the fees involved and how its almost impossible to get in touch with the hubzu staff. I personally haven't had issues with contacting them, especially through the live chat. They always respond quickly and thoroughly.

I already have some agents in mind. The only issue is are they willing to deal with investors or are they only interested in the traditional transaction process. I will get a good idea once I interview them.

Anyway, thanks again for your replies. God bless : )

Ok, so I'm currently bidding for a home on hubzu and they sent me an email asking if I will have an agent represent me. Is this required? Would it be a good idea? Would it significantly cut into my profit margin?

Wow, I am amazed at how many great people have replied to me so far! Thank you all for such a warm welcome. Right now, I'm doing some initial reading and studying. Learning different terms and acronyms.

I've got no savings nor credit I can use to get started (at least using any of my own money, which is none). So, I'm using BP search to find more info on hard money lending, bank owned homes and what are all the different options I have going for me right now. Biggest thing that I need right now is education and training.

Anyone know where I can find REO meet ups here in SA?

Hello, I'm Mike from San Antonio Tx and I'm new to the real estate investing world. I'm not going to beat around the bush; I want financial freedom! But I understand that this is not going to be an easy, quick route to that goal. I'm looking to learn as much as possible. And I don't have much to offer in return for advice or mentors. I'm a biomedical technician by trade and have no other marketable skills. But I am a fast learner and hard worker once I understand what needs to be done. I'm also a good friend and listener.
