@Jason Staine Just getting caught up on this thread.  I am a Relationship Manager with Cogent Bank in Orlando, FL and we offer solo 401k checking accounts.  The process is fairly straight forward as long as the 401k has a separate TIN than the company.  Happy to help you answer any additional questions.
