Thanks @Alan Walker! I will definitely check it out. Thanks @Andrew McFarlane for the welcome! I have been making a list of books on my phone ever since I started listening to the BP podcasts. Obviously Rich Dad Poor Dad was one of the first that I read which I loved. After that I learned that he had written a sequel, Cashflow Quadrant, which I also enjoyed. I read the Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. When you buy that he has a free mp3 available to listen to so I've actually listened to it a few times. It's great for learning the nuts and bolts. I've read the Book on Tax Strategies for the Savvy Real Estate Investor by Amanda Han which I mentioned in my first post. Truly mind blowing how much you can save on taxes from RE investing. I've read the Lean Startup and I'm currently reading The Millionaire Real Estate Investor by Gary Keller which has been awesome. I've read a few others and have a long list of books I've heard are good that I'm working on. PM me if you'd like my list and I'd be happy to share!

Thanks for the welcome @Becca Summers and @Brandon Rindlisbacher! I'd love to chat. Right now I'm most interested in anything between Salt Lake City and Payson just because it's what I'm most familiar with, but I could potentially be open to other locations as well. Let's definitely keep in touch!

Thanks for the response, Jacob. I'd love to get to know you more and work with you! I'm still learning the ropes as I mentioned in my post, but let's keep in touch.

Hello BiggerPockets! My name is Michael Christensen and I am a 26-year-old real estate newbie from Riverton, Utah.

For the past 5 years I have been attending college – I received my B.S. in biology a few years ago, and have been at the University of Utah School of Medicine for the past 2 years studying to become a doctor (2 more years to get my M.D. and then 3-5 more years for residency).

In July I took a leave of absence to start a business and since that time I have been obsessed with learning about real estate. I’ve listened to most of the BP podcasts, read many of the classics, and recently finished The Book on Tax Strategies for the Savvy Real Estate Investor which blew my mind.

I'm currently most interested in buy and hold single family rental properties and the BRRRR strategy. I'm looking to do my first deal between December-May 2017 and would love to connect with anyone in my area.
