Hi all,

I am looking at buying and remodeling a 2nd home for a primary residence (house hack with attached apartment). We are doing a VA reno loan but may need a little more money to finish the reno. The main house is a 1961. After a few hours of research on the internet I have learned that Home Equity Loans, HELOCs, and Refi's are all superior to one another and I should do all of them! haha So my question to anyone with experience with them, which one do you prefer and why?

My 1st residence is currently a short term rental with 75,000 in equity, looking to get 40,000 of that max. We also refinanced it about a year ago. Thanks in advance!

@Pam Smith make sure everything is documented via photos. You’ll have to pay to fix everything then submit receipts to the resolution center to be reimbursed. Start the process now but yes you can get money back. Good luck! And sorry about the ****** people.

Starting a kitchen remodel later this month. My wife and I are doing all the work and looking for any recommendation or advice? Horror stories are also welcome so when I am crying on my kitchen floor because the countertop isn't the right size I can laugh! Thanks in advance and have an awesome week.

Thanks all for the quick and great response! @Matt "Roar" Gardner and @Charlie Cameron I currently am TDY to Hurlburt so I could absolutely attend anything happening in the Niceville/Destin area. @Crystal Ball - The home I currently own is in PC (North St. Andrews area), so if/when we are back in that area I will look for a meet up to see if we can me it! Thanks again everyone.

Hi all,

I am highly interested and motivated to get into the real estate investing market. I currently am in the Florida Pan Handle area and will likely be here for the next few years. Are there any local groups? Would love to carve some time out with some and get to know the business and area a little more.

Hey all,

I have been looking at getting into the world of real estate investing over the last year or so. I have previously owned two single family homes that I have personally lived in. Now I use of them as a short term rental. I am in the Florida Pan Handle and work a 9-5. Excited to learn as much as I can and jump into the market. THANKS!!!
