@Kathy Henley unfortunately they do not have an active dental school at Washington University any longer, but thank you for the suggestion! And @Cody Barna thank you for that insight! So true that even if I am not making money outright, saving money could be just as beneficial.

My wife and I are interested in getting into real estate investing. I am currently applying to dental schools, and we have thought a good way to get started investing would be to house hack a duplex wherever we end up for dental school. One of the potential landing spots is San Francisco, but looking at housing prices, is it even worth getting into real estate investing during dental school in the bay area? Or should I wait until I graduate if we do end up going to school in San Francisco?
