Post: Obtaining a Title V in Massachusetts for Septic Systems

Bigger Pockets Readers,

I recently moved to Massachusetts and I am looking to buy a place for myself. I found a great foreclosure (potential for equity, location, existing property attributes) that needs some cosmetic work, but the main issue it is doesn't have a Title V. It is impossible to know the condition of the septic without getting an inspector out to the property. I was wondering if anyone had experience getting a Title V in Mass, and how difficult it was etc? I would like to bring an inspector when I look at the house, but I am unsure if it is even worth it to look into the house based on the missing Title V.

Thank you!

Meredith
