Thank you everyone and for the information! Replying to some of your questions below

@Jo-Ann Lapin sac is a big city withi many different neighbors. I haven't start looking in but I will definitely take time to do some research. Do you have any recommendations?

@Chris Mason yes there's an email alias. People ask and answer question within the group and also do monthly lunch things like that. After watching people discussing things that I've no idea about, I decide to start learning on REI

Hi everyone, I'm a new member from SF bay area. I've been in northern California for 8+ years, 4 years in Davis for study and 4+ years in the bay area.

I own a condo bought in 2014 and have been living in it since then. I heard about biggerpockets from a real estate group at work. I always want to start invest in real estate but didn't know where to start. I'm excited to find biggerpockets but also overwhelmed by the amount of resource. I'm interested in buy-and-hold, which seems hard in the bay area. So I'm open to ideas within 2~3 hours from bay area to start. I start by reading through the beginner's guide and searching some blogs/posts on how to find where to invest. But again overwhelmed by the data from websites like city-data.com, and have no idea where should i start looking!

Anyhow, I'm excited to join the community and looking forward to the adventure!
