Post: My Highlight Reel from BPCON2024

I thoroughly enjoyed BPCON2024, simply for the fact that it was my first one.

Of course, from here on out I will be comparing! I can see why it is mentioned as being unorganized, from my newbie stand point I was able to find my way around. I did print off my itinerary before I left, so that was helpful. I felt like it was a lot of people, hard to imagine more than who was there.

I did hear mention of an app in prior years, I do think that would be helpful for future events.

I feel motivated and excited after attending. If anyone who is reading this has not been, what are you waiting for?

Like Micheal said, listen to your REALTOR. Your agent/broker will offer you the guidance you need to have the best experience possible. I find the easiest clients to work with are able to communicate via e-mail, phone and text. Sometimes things need to be turn in, in a timely manner. Also, be open and honest with them, that way they can help you to work with your lender, inspectors, contractors, etc!

A good agent though, should ALWAYS be excited to work with all their clients!

An App would be wonderful as I am always on the go.

Perhaps a way to save/favorite some articles....maybe I just haven't figured that bit out yet!

I think we had a glitch with the save an article button, but it should be coming back soon.

Oh that would be wonderful! I enjoy reading the articles.

Welcome @Shera Ewing!

I agree with @Conner Olsen

I am currently house hacking by renting out one room in my house. I think sometimes we want to jump right into it, when what we should focus on is building the foundation.

Reading as many articles as I can, listening to the podcasts in the car and getting involved in these forums has helped to take away the nerves. Start small and then build your way up!

You got this!!

I am up in the Bar Harbor area. A little drive for me, but I would love to be a part of this and help out!

Biggest learning lesson for me in 2021 is that I REALLY can do anything I set my mind to. I took all the steps to become a Real Estate Agent. CHECK!

My goals for 2022 are laying the groundwork for my investing dreams. It's all about learning as much as I can, while getting my hands dirty by being the best REALTOR that I can be!

Tremont, Bass Harbor, Southwest harbor are all ghost towns this time of year, but you could get decent money for weekly rentals in the summer. We have a lot of visitors each year to Bar Harbor and usually people want to stay close to town or stay on the island. I think as we come out of the fog of the pandemic though, people will be less picky about coming to Maine to JUST see MDI. Lamoine has a couple great beaches and is fairly quiet, yet close enough to mdi, that it is worth not staying on the island to visit. Lamoine would be a great place if you wanted yearly rentals, but you could also do weekly rentals at close to the prices you would get if you had a rental on MDI. Also, I hear the taxes in lamoine are reasonable. I worked on MDI for almost ten years and have grown up in the area most of my life. I know you posted this question 6 months ago, but let me know if you still have any questions about the area! I love this state and am very blessed to call this place home.
