My wife and I would love to do a basement conversion to an apartment in our house. The ceilings aren’t tall enough, and I know that you can dig out a lower foundation to make the ceilings taller. The problem is that the house is only one side of a duplex. Our foundation is shared with the house attached to us.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to lower the foundation only on our side? Or would that compromise the foundation of the neighbors/ not be possible?
