Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this post! I appreciated your insight and the discussion. While I am not in the market to purchase a commercial space myself, I am excited to partner with commercial building owners and help them generate additional revenue, especially during this time.

Thank you both! I can see that I wasn't quite clear in my original ask. I specifically am wondering what type of pain points existing commercial owners have? I am not in the market to buy commercial property (my husband and I are vacation rental investors) but am interested in working with commercial property owners on developing income streams, especially with what is going on right now and wanted to make sure I understood their existing pain points so that I am not creating a problem that doesn't exist. Can anyone speak to this? I really appreciate the comments though!

Hello! I know that commercial property ownership versus 4 unit MFH and SFM is very different and that includes the pain points. What are the major pain points with commercial property ownership? Thanks so much!

Thank you everyone! My husband and I made contact with multiple agents and found one that we both feel comfortable moving forward with. She works with out of state investors such as ourselves and is a born and raised in KC with a wealth of knowledge. All of the advice in your comments and obviously on BP helped us have a knowledgeable first conversation, understand our strategy and niche and start analyzing deals. We're moving forward with our purchase criteria and hopefully will be closing on our first deal soon! This is a great community and I really appreciate the outflow of support and individuals wanting to help new investors. It can be intimidating at times, but having too many people offering to help is far better than the alternative.

@Chris Zumbach Thank you! We are excited about obtaining our first set of properties in the KC market. We have gone down the bunny trail on a few passive income ideas and finally realized that rental property was where we wanted to go. During some research I stumbled upon BiggerPockets and it really was the fire we needed to move from to seriously looking for properties, agents and finance options. Thank you for all your advice and definitely good luck to you son! Seattle is a great place for industrial designers, a big market for that profession. I hope he's able to get out here soon.  Thank you again!

Hello BiggerPockets Community! My husband and I are newby investors pre first deal. We are looking at either multiple SFH or 2-3qty MFH or even acquiring a portfolio. Our targeted market is Kansas City, MO and the surrounding area. We're located in Washington State so we'll be out of state investors. We've devouring the BP podcasts and blogs right now and educating ourselves as much as possible. Meeting with real estate agents this week to start looking at properties or available portfolios. Any advice for newbies starting out is welcome :) Not entirely sure all of the information to include in the intro but wanted to start making connections and dialogue!
