Hi,

I am a little new to this. I did a search before I posted this thread, but could not find the info I am looking for.

I am wondering how to get a USDA Loan in Ohio for Multi-Family?

My wife and I have excellent credit and have chosen a part of Ohio that is in the USDA Loan program.  From what I understand, the USDA will do a loan for a non-owner occupied Multifamily for 10% down. Though we will live in the 1st Multi-Family for a short time, we want to "save" a residential loan for when we find a 2nd Multi-Family that is just right for us.

Also, anyone who has any experiences with USDA loans in general. I welcome to hear how smooth/rough the process was.

The wife and I are looking to relocate to Cleveland, OH and buy a duplex. We have been using Redfin as our main reference.

There are a few side-by-side duplexes, but the vast majority are over/under units built between 1890-1920.

Based in the external & interior pics, they seem to share a floor-plan. Even the fireplaces in many of the units look the same.

Anyone out there have any examples of common "standard" floor-plans for the duplexes in the Cleveland area?
