Thank you for the quick response, I appreciate it.

Helpful guidance on not making the claim.  I had called Travelers in advance of making it and they had assured me that this claim--for a neighbor's injury--wouldn't impact my premiums.  They were obviously completely wrong about that, and not only did it impact my premiums going forward it impacted my ability to get insurance at all.  A lesson learned going forward, I suppose.

My insurer won't change policy types and a few others said they couldn't provide me with insurance.  But late last notice a broker said they found a smaller company willing to insure me, so it looks like I have found at least a temporary solution.

Hi all,

I was hoping for some guidance for an issue I am having obtaining insurance.  I am starting to rent out my former primary residence, and have been told that because of a September 2021 claim for a non-weather related incident, the guidelines now indicate that I cannot receive any insurance. The claim was because a neighbor was injured on my property and had $2800 in medical bills.

I have reached out to every insurance company I can think of, along with many brokers and they have all told me that their guidelines say I cannot be insured. Do you have any possible tips on next steps?  It's hard for me to believe that because of this one small claim I am now completely uninsurable, but that is what everyone seems to be telling me.

Thank you, I really appreciate any help.
