@Robert Ellis Multi family is the goal. 2-4 units is the starting point I am looking at. Class B and above. I don't have a hard price point. The plan is to live in the property but that could change. I am not entirely sure what my financing options are in terms of loan amount and down payment, and considering that it most likely would be my place of residence. Right now, looking for more direction on first steps.

I am new to the real estate game but very eager to get involved. I would like to get started by purchasing a multifamily rental property, most likely house hack and live in one unit and rent the others. What would be a good set of steps to see this come to fruition? More specifically, should I locate a real estate agent first, determine what I can finance next, find the property third, etc.? Or is there a different order that would be more ideal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking for some guidance on getting started and things to consider when starting out. Things such finding the best agent suited towards my interests, any professional legal/financial items, etc. Appreciate the help!
