Yes I have considered them but they are  way pricier!!

Hello All!! I am planning to build a 1200 sq. ft. detached ADU in Los Angeles ( boarder to Culver City) and I spoke with few Architects and their price is very different, the lowest was 8k and the highest 20K not included engineer or title 24. I would greatly appreciate if you share your cost for Architect and Engineer. And secondly, how much was your permit fees if you got your permit this year, lastly does anyone recommend their Architect and engineer please? Thank you.

I read somewhere here that if you have an existing detached rec room or garage whatever it is you can convert it to JADU and attach to an ADU, I am morning sure about it. I thought JADU should be attached to the primary dwelling.

Hello Steven!!

I am in the same situation like you trying to find an answer and the only thing I heard was a contractor told me that impact fee is $3.80 or $4 per sq ft. Have you found out anything? But I am not sure wether it’s on the whole 1200sq ft or 1200 -750= 450 sq ft

Hello Justin!!

Would you please share your experience you had while building Your ADU? Cost? Permit? Contractor? Architectural design? Engineering? Title 24? And anything in between? I am planning to build a two story 1200 sq ft apartment at the back of my house. Hope you are enjoying your new life in Ohio. Thanks!!
