Post: Home Warranty on My ADU?

I was happy with my home warranty. They replaced and brought two water heaters up to code. But just found out my ADU wasn't actually covered, which terrifies me, because Im just waiting for something to go wrong with my 1980's ADU.

My home warranty with Old Republic just expired and I found out they weren't covering my ADU. Should I buy a home warranty for my ADU? It's from the 80's and Im just waiting fro something to go wrong. Any Recommendations on a good home warranty for an ADU property? Also should I renew my home warranty on my main residence?

Hi BP,

Looking for advice. Ive been house hacking a 3/1 with an ADU in the backyard for the last year. Located in the Bay Area (El Cerrito hills). What should I do next? Would it be wise to refi, pull the money out and buy another property? Maybe you've been in this position before or just have good advice, what would you do?
