Thanks Arissa! That is our plan! It sounds like the Lone Star project is on the rocks as of yesterday, but the area is still being gentrified and increasing in value, so it might still be a good place to employ your model. I am sure someone will develop it, and there is always the epicenter project that will happen soon. I'm going tomorrow to look at a few properties!

Hi! My wife and I just spent a day in San Antonio looking at properties. We looked in the Northwest part of town, and the numbers were intriguing. Then our agent took us downtown, close to the Lone Star Beer factory that is undergoing a huge renovation into a mixed use area that is supposed to be the next big thing in San Antonio. There are still affordable houses down there with lots of charm and we have our eye on a property very close to it, but have only read what I could find on the internet about it. Does anyone have any contacts down there that would have access to non MLS deals? Thanks!

Hi, we live in Austin and have one rental here, and will turn our current home into a rental soon, but the market here is pretty high and we have been doing research into the San Antonio market.  Homes are cheap and the rents are good. We were looking at buying a place close to Randolph AFB, maybe a 3/2 with a garage and hoping to rent to Air Force families.  Any thoughts?  One problem is the turnover, but other than that, it looks like we could pick up a couple places on the cheap.  I think we would be looking at properties in the $80-120K.  Anyone have any input?  Thanks in advance!  Matt

Thanks for all the replies!  It looks like the dusty old town of Ft. Worth is changing quickly.  There should be some good opportunities coming up.  Does anyone have a good real estate agent in the Westworth Village/River Oaks area?  I am looking for motivated sellers in the area!

Hi, I am curious if anyone has any inside info on the large development going in on White Settlement near Robert's Cut-off.  I have been going there to visit my Grandma for almost 40 years and the area has been pretty run down for much of that time.  My parents are going to be selling her house soon and it looks like a great buy and rent option since homes on Sam Calloway, right next to the action,  have already started to climb in value.  Crystal Springs and the River District are already starting to build.  Any info would help, thanks!
