Hi Lance,

I originally wanted a multifamily, but since I am new to the game I think I am going to start with single family. Just something to dip my toes into the water. I have never been a landlord and for all I know I might hate it. So to begin I don't want to 'get in too deep'. If land lording suits me, I will continue to acquire more properties and get into multi family. I would like to get something that needs a little fixing up. I am looking in the downtown area as well as east campus and West A neighborhoods, but I am not married to any of these neighborhoods. If the numbers work I will go into any neighborhood. I am not pre-qualified for a loan, but I met with a banker last Friday and is ready to help when I find something I like. As far as amenities, I don't plan on concerning myself with a specific niche just yet.

If you have any pointers or advice let me know.

Thanks!

Hello All,

I am looking into getting into some buy & hold real estate investing in Lincoln NE. I have been listening to the podcast non-stop and reading everything I can get my hands on. I have zero experience in real estate, but I can honestly say nothing has gotten and held my attention more than this subject.

I am a management & program analyst with the federal government right now. I am also retired from the army and looking to put my duel incomes to work for me. Once I find the right deal I plan on doing it the old fashioned way; putting down 20% and getting a mortgage.

I know that this community can offer a lot of support and wisdom when it comes to what I would like to do. So I am all ears when it comes to how to navigate the word of real estate.

Thanks!
