I wanted to get some perspective from other peoples experience. I have my first rental and my tenants called saying that they had an insane electric bill (approx $800). Due to the weather, I imagined it was most likely the HVAC, got someone over and indeed found one of the two units had died and has been replaced (today). The tenants are asking for the electric bill to be refunded to them. Has anyone else had experience with a similar situation? What did you do?

Were you able to find a contractor? I'm looking for the same thing in that area.

Did you ever find a contractor? I'm also looking for a contractor in the VB area.

I am looking for a contractor that someone recommends in the Suffolk, VA (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, or other surrounding cities). I was working on a mother-in-law suite for my house before I got caught in the move with the Navy. During that time I was taken advantage of by my then contractor and have a half-finished project. If anyone has a recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Alison - I was wondering if between your experience as a flipper or as a Realtor if you had any recommendations for contractors that you're worked for in the Suffolk area (or surrounding cities who would work in Suffolk :-)  )?  

 Greg - I have a house in the Suffolk area that had a botched remodel project. I'm currently looking for a reliable contractor in the area. Were you able to find one that you would recommend?
