Looking to get a few recommendations for a good CPA/ Tax Strategist in Hampton Roads for my business taxes that is familiar with the REI Business.

Welcome @John Jacobs. I'm also a government employee looking to get into rentals but focusing on trying to rehab right now between govt assignments. Tons of info on the forums and podcasts to help get started.

@Amberle Farthing I would love to get on your email list and work together in the future if anything comes up. @Christopher Lightner I would love to grab a beer sometime and talk shop. Trying to learn as much as I can about the market and investing in general. @Michael Vittorio i agree nothing tops getting out there and looking at properties. I've been trying check out a few open houses to meet other realtors and seeing what type of work other investors are doing also which has helped me out a whole lot starting out. If you and Amberle want to grab a beer also I would be game for that too. Either as a group or other times. I have to head out to San Diego this weekend for work but will be back the 27th if any of you have any free time after that?

@Michael the have me moving all over the place. I work for MSC so what ever ship I get assigned to is where I go. I will be working out of Little Creek mainly on my upcoming assignment which will keep me home for over a year so I hope to hit it hard while I have the opportunity of being home.

Hi Taylor! I'm not, I'm originally from Boston. My civilian job actual brought me down here but no surprise its related to the Navy. I work on the Auxiliary ships that the navy has running around with them to resupply them with fuel/food/ammo and also some special mission ships. I was getting assigned ships that were always in port here so decided to make the move about 5 years ago.

My name is Matt Connolly and I am finally getting into the business of real estate investing here in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia focusing mainly in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. My plan now is to focus in on Rehabbing and get into rentals down the road. My job as a Marine Engineer and Navy Reservist unfortunately does take me away from time to time and sometimes for a couple months at a time but I'm committed to making this work. 

I would love to get to meet people in my area that are already in the business to help start building my network or maybe to just grab a beer sometime. Definitely looking to meet some hard working contractors and some PMLs that would love to do business together in the future.
